My Summer.....

  Summer....
I never really did like that word. It meant TOTAL BOREDOM.  You see, summer has always been our "slow part" of the year. It seems like we always spend DAYS without entertainment. DAYS without learning ANYTHING. DAYS without seeing friends. And long hours where we had "nothing to do."
   Well, not this summer.  You see, It all started in the middle of last summer. What was this dramatic change? Well, we changed churches.  We visited with some friends at their church, and just never went back to our original church. (By "church" I mean a specific gathering of Believers") :-)
  Anyway, so we went from what is technically "Baptist" to Presbyterian. Pear Orchard Presbyterian Church. The change was phenomenal. I cant even begin to describe all of the "little differences" ;
We sing Hymns on Sunday morning. Sunday evening we sing 'older' "praise songs."  The families are, for the most part, large. We have a few families that have 8+ kids and most are between 3-7 kids.
I love my youth group. We do so much throughout the year together, taking the words "just like family" very seriously. We really are "one big happy family".  Our group has roughly 70 kids, 7th- 12th grade.  Not too big to know everyone; but not too small either. I could probably name most of the guys and all of the girls.
  Anyway, back to Summer. Since we joined, I have been on 5 different trips: Two were weekends, 1 was a week long, and 2 were Friday-Saturday overnight trips. We also do get-togethers once or twice a month where we hang out/watch a movie/ play games/ etc, etc.
  We had a game night last night. It's called Mega-Shenanigans. (Pretty much the BEST night of the year) We played a ton of Crazy -weird games.
. My team came in 3rd. :-) We were Team Narwhal.... My friend, Aidan, came up with that. :-)

   Anyway, So this has, over all, been my BEST SUMMER EVER!!!! :-)
