It feels so good to be posting again after over a month of not posting.
I turned sixteen.
!!NEWS FLASH!!
To those of you who haven't yet reached 16, let me tell you right now. It feels the EXACT same as 15, so don't freak out as your Sweet 16 nears. (LOL)
I mean, come on. Our car messed up on my Sweet 16 and we ran off the road into a whole bunch of bushes. Our car just got back out of the shop today. (I'll never forget it, that's for sure.)
P.S. I was not driving, and no one was hurt.
I have a new story I am currently working on. (For those of you who are aware that I was working on a WWII novel, I canned it. I've never been one to give up on a story easily, but mercy sakes, after 11 failed attempts...well, let's say I am officially GIVING UP on a story. (Shocker, I know.)
Here's the link to the new story. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1uLDybs3T5qO6UXdjFA4ljQ16haUfmgTNQxtqfN5B4Ls/edit
Enjoy that.
Here's a synopsis for it.:
Originator.
Dweller. Student. Mutant. Protector. Moonshine. New Moon Cycle (a.k.a. NMC).
Carry Zone. It all sums up the Lennox Forest.
Luke, Myres, Austin, and Katie work together to lead their friends—but
it proves to be a challenge where they can’t
lead. The Lennox is a true mystery. And it’s one that can’t be solved—unless
you become a Protector.
Now, this story is written for my sisters and brothers. (note to Noah: it was for the girls first...until you found it while I was out of town.*)My sibling's ages range from I think 7-ish to 14-ish. I have full intention of KILLING OFF A FEW CHARACTERS. Lydia (my youngest sis) has approved of my choices. The other girls are freaking out since they dont know who or how yet. {smiles evilly}
This project is a Trilogy. (three books is my goal but there is a good chance it may wind up being four, which will make it a series....oops...Uh-oh. I just realised that so many trilogies turn out not-so-great. I mean, The Maze Runner, Hunger Games**, Divergent***, Inheritance Cycle****....eeep....okay maybe I WILL make it a series. (No, just kidding.) It will be a trilogy, and it will (hopefully) end well. I hate messed-up endings.
* Out of town? Say what? Well, My mom (she's awesome, I tell ya.) took me and one of my best friends, Kennedy, to the Southern Festival of Books; A Celebration of the Written Word. We met a bunch of authors and I got some EXCELLENT advice from Mr. Andrew Peterson (author of The Wingfeather Saga) , Mrs. Tui Sutherland (author of the Wings of Fire series), and some illustration advice from Mr. John Rocco (illustrator of many of Rick Rioridan's books)
The experience was Amazing. :D (To Kennedy: Thanks for bearing with me during one of my family-famous laughing fits while we were at the pool LOL)
** I have NOT read or seen the Hunger Games, but I know enough to know I would NOT have enjoyed the ending, based off of the THOUSANDS of spoilers that can be found EVERYWHERE.
***Again, I have NOT read/see Divergent, either. But everyone says that, too, ends terribly.
****The Inheritance Cycle is a series, not a trilogy. However, it was originally supposed to be a trilogy, but Christopher Paolini wound up making Brisingr and Inheritance into two books instead of one since it was SO long.
Alright, it's gettin' late, and I slept 3 hours last night trying to finish the Maze Runner trilogy (Great--no horrible---no, great---Terrible....ARCK!!! I just wanna scream over that one. Read it. No, dont. Yes, do....no.....yes....YES, Read it and feel my agony!! It really is a good series...just prepare yourself.... Savannah, DO NOT spoil things for your amazing blog readers who may not have read that horrible--no, fantastic....no terrible...JUST SHUT UP, Brain, please!! You are still on Book Hangover. Just chill......
I get book hangovers. And TV show hangovers. It's been hard to get over catching up with Netflix on Doctor Who.
ReplyDeleteThe ending of Hunger Games isn't THAT bad. I mean, it's sad, but it's as happy as it could be, and I was satisfied with which guy Katniss married. It was a sort of abrupt ending, but I didn't mind that too much.
