"Royals" by Lorde

Hey guys!
Well, I said I am going to be more regular about posting. :-) And I am trying to hold to that.

Most of you teens out there have probably heard the song "Royals" by song artist "Lorde".

I personally love this song. It's catchy, and easy to sing along with. It was Royals that finally got me "into" pop. For years, like until 6-8 months ago, really, I ONLY listened to christian contemporary music. But I heard "Royals" when with a friend of mine, and searched it's lyrics. I liked it... but I still wasn't sure if it was an "okay" song. ... morally. Then I heard my mom explaining it to my brother, and I thought, "hmm.. that's pretty cool!" And after looking at other reviews online, I thought... Hmmm.... some people seem to be getting mixed signals about this song. I want to clear up some of those. :-)

So, the thing that I've seen is this: people dont understand the "We'll never be Royals" and then, turn around, and she says: "Let me be your Ruler".
I think that we can take this to mean "I am not going to be the best of the best. I'm not "higher" than you. And, because I understand that, and because I dont care, I have a power that some people dont have. I don't have to worry about what every one thinks, because I am who I am and I am who I will be."
Now, I think, as Christians, we can take it a step further. : I dont have to worry about what every one else thinks Because I am the Son or Daughter of the Creator of the World. 

I hope this makes sense. :-) I'd love to hear your opinion on this. Do you think my reasoning is correct? Or do you think I am missing something? I'd love to hear what you have to say, so Please, DO leave a comment! :-)

PS. I'd also like to know if you all are interested in Movie/song reviews? I dont get to see too many movies, but the ones I do see, I like to dive into them, and I'd love to try to review them. :-)
